And the winners are. . .

Using a random number generator, two winners have been picked.

The moon goes to My Owl Barn

and the star is for ArtPropelled.

Thank you all for playing!

Something-New Sunday

Skellies, skellies, and more skellies. . .oh my!

are now sporting all sorts of hats and sizes.

Tuesday's Table

There's a bounty of bones awaiting their finishing touches on this morning's table.
All sorts of sizes and colors, including purple. I almost never use purple, but I've seen the error of my ways and have been converted to its grape-flavored goodness.
They're so cute! Can skeletons be cute?

Anybody else have Oingo Boingo's Dead Man's Party running through their brain?

Something-New Sunday. . .On Monday

What has 6 arms, 20 wheels,
and the potential to sprout wings?
It's Katie Pillar!
Go here or here to see more of her.

I was a little late posting Her Royal Bugginess on account of we went to look at yet another rental house. And guess what? We got it! Yay! The quest is over! We won't be moving til the end of June, so there's still plenty of time to sort through every little thing while deciding what pile to stick it in-- Keep, Toss, Give Away, or Goodwill. Honestly, how many dead sewing machines does Dylan need??

Saturday

Go here Sunday evening at 8:PM
to see lots of fabulousness including a one-of-a-kind angel
fresh off The Cart. Here's a little sneak peek-
And while you're out and about in Cyberland,
be sure to stop by here for your chance to win
lots of Halloween goodies (and jellybeans). . .
. . .
Today I'm finishing something new for
Something-New Sunday.
I'll be back tomorrow.

Time keeps on ticking, ticking, ticking. . .

Today finds me making (among other things) announcements for my baby girl's upcoming high school graduation. She made the drawing of herself as the graduate for us to stick on the front of the cards. Such a talented kid!

We just found out that she's Valedictorian (yay Kaity!)
so there's a lot to celebrate.
Despite my pride and general gushiness towards the brilliant redhead, I'm still feeling sad about her going off into the world. That's all reasonable, I know, but I'm also feeling unreasonably miffed with Time. I just wanna punch that little thief in the face.

5.18.2010

My, what big EYES you have!

I got such a wonderful treat in the mail yesterday, a total surprise!
It's a new Little Red Riding Hood to add to my collection!
She's made by the uber-talented Joyce Stahl, and I gotta tell you the craftsmanship is impeccable. And you gotta dig those kooky eyes! Polka-dots, stripes, red. . .I'm in heaven!
The rest of the Little Red's are already packed but I didn't want her to be lonely, so I found a little wolf to keep her company. Come to think of it, he was a gift from a collector. I must be the luckiest girl in the world! I am so blessed to be continually amazed by kindness and generosity. My cup runneth over.

And speaking of (sur)prizes, head on over to the EHAG Emporium for your chance to win lots of Halloweeny goodness by guessing the number of jelly beans in the jar.
I hope today brings unexpected surprises (the happy kind)
to you all.

On the Table

In between semi-obsessive Craig's List visits looking for a rental house, the art machine (me) chugs along. This week's batch is light and bright, not unlike this sunny Spring day here on the beautiful Oregon coast.
A flurry of fairy necklaces await their final touches-- teeny tiny pupils, lip color, shading, and a twinkle in each eye. They're so adorable in their little wingy piles, I get such a kick out of these little bugs!

After they're all done and shipped off, we're headed inland to look at yet another rental house. It'll be the fourth house we've wanted. Every other house has been rented by the time it takes us to drive there to see it! We missed out on the last one by 4 minutes. Arrgh! After a bit of foot stomping (more on my part than Dylan's) we shrug it off and take comfort in knowing that the perfect place is waiting for us. We're meeting the landlord this evening and they'll decide by next Sunday (after everyone else in the world gets a shot at it) if we get the place. Hope they like us. *crossing my fingers and toes*

Happy Monday, all you beautiful people!

Giving You the Moon and Stars

Because May is pretty and giving things away is fun. . .
. . .we're offering up a star. . .
. . .and a moon.
Two people will win.
Just leave a comment here to enter.
A random winner will be picked
May 31.

5.15.2010

I'm a winner, I can feel it.

44th Street Fabric had a giveaway and guess who won?
I did!
Oooh, it's luscious too!
Thanks Bev!

I'm thinking I'll pay it forward and have a little giveaway too.
Tomorrow maybe. Stay tuned. . .

Prettiness and Goofosity

Lookie what just came to live on The Cart-
It's a red fawn! Isn't she just gorgeous? I love her!
All made from bits of metal with impeccable attention to detail by Barbara Ibost. She really needs to get a website or blog together so I can link to her fabulousness, but in the meantime if you wanna see more of her work you can e-mail her (barbiobst@comcast.net) and ask to see more pictures.
Having art come in to the house is a novelty around here;
usually it's just going out.

(Speaking of going out, the rental house hunt continues. Arrgh.)

Today's agenda includes painting, sculpting tiny pocket watches and knee-high boots out of paperclay, carving tiny bunny paws out of wood, slopping stain all over everything in sight, and sewing a stripey skirt for an angel.
I must say, not a bad way to spend the day.
So come and play, get carried away!
(I am a goof. There is the proof.)

5.11.2010

Mark your calendars. . .

. . . for a fabulous show!
Two of them actually-- one in-person, and one online.

Wish I could be at both, but New York isn't in the cards for The Cart this year. I'll be at the on-line one with bells on though. I'll be in such wonderful company! Some of my very favorites will be there, including (but not limited to) Magda Trzaski, Pat Murphy, and Laurie Meseroll. Drool!

In other news-
The House Hunt of 2010 continues here on the ole Cart.
It's not fun. I'll spare you the whining.

Inhale. Exhale.
Play.

Company

It has been been quiet here in Blogland because we have had visitors on the ole Cart. Our new friends Angi and Silas came to spend the weekend. Love them!
They are the very essence of
and I wish they lived just around the bend
(instead of far far away).

Yay for friends, new and old
(and yet to be discovered).
Amen
Abracadabra
Amen

5.05.2010

Good morning!

This is a bit of the most important wall in our kitchen. It holds favorite kid drawings, the bulletin board (which is unusually empty today) for those all-important notices, the school calendar, the regular calendar, and the hub of daily activities-- the dry erase board. That's where the really important things like doodles and grocery lists usually hang out. Whenever the kids notice that we're out of something essential to their survival they write it on the board and it magically gets bought (by elves they presume) while they're at school.
This morning's list made me giggle, so of course I had to share-
For those who may not be able to read my kids' unique handwriting, this is what it says:
-Butter (for toast)
-Tea (for buttered toast)
-and bagels (glorified toast)

My family cracks me up.

5.04.2010

Oh, deer.

I spotted a quiet visitor through the dreamy fog this morning. . .
. . .and he spotted me.
I like the quiet animals best, like deer and rabbits.
My scaredy-cat dog will bravely chase off a deer or a bunny (they're the only creatures that will bother to run from His Fluffiness) so he likes them best too.

Something-New Sunday

So we were trying to get  a picture like this one
(showing off the latest necklaces in their natural environment). . .

. . .but getting our teenager to do her best impression of a mannequin presented some obstacles.

Anyway, here are the latest girls-
Or you can see them here on Etsy.

Sneak-Peek Saturday

Sunday's storybook sweeties are waiting for their day in the spotlight.
So much teeny-tinyness!
