Sunday

Finished some color variations on a couple of favorites today.
Now Amanita has two new family members, Ada and Amelia.
Darwin and Darcie became quick friends too.

I did other stuff today too. Like dinner. OK so I do dinner everyday, but today the whole family was here at the same time (a rarity lately). It's always nice interesting to sit down with the whole Cartload of silliness that is my husband and offspring. We even sat down to a movie together. Dylan picked the movie; it was lame; the kids wandered off. They're teenagers and have the attention span of. . .well, teenagers. sigh. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted.

Blankity Blanks

A big bit of blanks waited rather impatiently for me on yesterday morning's worktable.
This is Dylan's handiwork. He sews them, stuffs them with fluff, then presents them to me in all their naked glory.
I am continually amazed by his ability to convince those big ole man-hands of his to make such sweet little tiny bits.
This morning's table holds a more colorful bunch.
There are a few new color variations mixed in there amongst earlier favorites.
A whole bunch of new designs are sitting on Dylan's table this morning, awaiting his man-handed magic. Designs which include a couple of circus mermaids, a banjo-playing goat, some Springtimey goodness, a cross-dressing devil, elephantine experimentations, and a couple of sitting Whatsits.

In the meantime, visit our website to see the done stuff.
Hope you're all having a happy day
full of the possiblity of random silliness.

This Morning

Tuzy the Wonderfluff and I headed over to my folks house for breakfast this morning. I brought the camera along for the 9 mile trip, in hopes of catching a little prettiness on this gorgeous Oregon day.
Goose, goose.

Fish a la Cousin Tim.

Silly Tuzy.

A view. Oregon, especially the coast, is a feast for the eyes.
It's a good thing too, because my eyes are always hungry!
Yum!

Face It

I like those odd doll/stuffies that are some sort of genetic engineering experiment gone terribly wrong right. There's probably some sort of official word for them, but I haven't discovered it. You know the ones? They have stuffed animal-ish bodies and masky doll faces. There's just something so weird-but-sweet about them. Which, come to think of it, descibes most of my favorite people too.
I myself enjoy putting a babydoll face on most anything. Here are the lastest face-ums.
I can't pick a favorite. Not only because it hurts their strange little feelings, but because I'm fickle and change my mind way too easily.

The Day After

It's the day after my birthday. The candles have been blown out, songs sung, dinner did,  presents unwrapped, and festivities festived. My favorite presents are homemade cards. Here's a collection of some of this year's awesomeness:
Made by (clockwise from top left) Kaity, Emily, Papa Steve, Jimmy, and Dylan.

I got a few more little things for my teeny-tiny-bits-n-bobs collection too!
I am a lucky lucky girl!
☻ ☻ ☻
Thank you to all who sent happy birthday wishes.
I hope you're having a lovely day, birthday or not.

Bunnies and Kitties and Bugs

It was bunnies and kitties and bugs (oh my) on The Cart this week.
Pretty quilted wings adorn not-so-creepy-crawlies. . .
Another kitty for the growing. . .ummm. . .what's a group of cats called?. . . According to my sources, it's called a clowder. That's just goofy. Clowder? Anyway, I made another kitty.

And another kitty too (only less cat-like) to be a friend for the anthropomorphic bunny girls.

In other news, tomorrow's my birthday!
I get to spend the day with my super awesome brother.
This is us 30-something years ago in one of those photo booth thingies.
He is the very best part of my childhood.
♥ ♥ ♥
A very merry un-birthday to you!
(Unless, of course, it is your birthday. In that case, Happy Birthday!)

Spring and a Papery Mess

Spring is springing!
Here's a little proof of Mother Nature's intentions
for all you blizzard-bound captives of a seemingly endless Winter.
This brave little flower is poking it's pretty little heads out of my needs-to-be-weeded courtyard.
Weeds mean Spring, so yay for weeds!
The bright blue sky, after so many months of gray, is trying to distract me from the task(s) at hand. Here's today's worktable, evidence of my super-human imperviousness to pretty weather. (OK, so I've been waiting for dark to really get to work.)
It's a papery mess! Along with some new designs, I've been drawing stuff for more website make-over happenings. The drawing part I can do, but getting them from paper into the computer is another story. A story involving magical nerdy elves, and the blind leading the blind. Pretty exciting stuff.

Has Spring begun to surface in your neck of the woods?

The Winner is. . .

(Drumroll please)
Sandee
Sorry for those who didn't win.
It's random folks, blame Fate.
. . .
Dylan did good this fine girly day! He made me the sweetest card. Seriously, I love it more than any card ever. But I'm not allowed to show it to you all because he won't let me. So you'll just have to take my word for it. And there was chocolate. And the bestest little present! (I feel so spoiled.)
Remember that printer's tray that I turned into a shelf for tiny little things? Well, he got me the latest treasure to grace it's tiny shelves. Lookie!
Closer. . .
Closer still. . .
Tah-dah!
Aren't they the sweetest little things!
They're Marx figures from the 50s. So cool!
I'm am a lucky lucky girl.

Happy Valentine's Day
If you don't have a Valentine, be your own date.

Valentine's Day

It's almost time to draw a name outta the hat! It's not to late to play. I'll draw a name tomorrow evening.
All done!
I know that February 14th can outright suck for those without a Valentine of their own. But the day was named after a guy who was beaten with clubs and stoned; when that didn't finish him, he was beheaded outside the Flaminian Gate.
So ya know, it could be worse.

On the Table

Here's a quick peek at today's worktable.
Work, work, work.
Play, play, play!

Mathematical Equations a la Cart

A new Alice joined the menagerie this week. One with a Cheshire Cat in tow.
I really like how she turned out.
Her mischievous kitty companion took a little inspiration from Disney's classic Cheshire, a lot of inspiration from Tenniel's 1866 version, and a little silliness al la Cart. Voila!
(That's the closest I get to doing math.)

We also made Birdie a friend (she was lonely and wanted a Valentine of her own).
They were made for each other

February

In February, The Mr. gets hit with two separate occassions which require his rather limited gift-getting skills: Valentine's Day and my birthday. All in one tiny month! Present buying generally falls to me. I'm better at it, and I tend to think of it before the last possible second. Dylan, not so much. He refers to Valentine's Day as "that chick holiday". Still, he's my very favoriteValentine, and I've got hearts on the brain. So I went looking for hearts that we've made over the years (some much more recently than others). Here are some of them-
This one's the latest-
And you can see more of her here.

Speaking of hearts, lookie what the I found waiting for me at the post office-
It's a Valentine! Isn't that the sweetest thing?? I have met the nicest people in Blogland! There was a birthday present too, but I'm not allowed to open it until my birthday. (I was tempted to anyway, but the Mr said he'd tattle.) Thanks Kai!

All this generosity has me in the mood to give something away.
I'll be back tomorrow with a bit of Giveaway sweetness.
