Goodbye

Goodbye my sweet furry friend. My constant companion. My comfort. My steadfast, trustworthy, fuzz-faced, cookie-loving, second-hand, truest treasure in all the world. You were almost always a gentleman. Thank you for choosing me. I'm honored to have been your person.

  4. Oh,Jo. This morning I was able to use a friend's laptop before everyone awakens - I'm out of town for 2 weeks - and check emails & blogs. I hadn't intended to write - just read - but I had to. I'm horribly sorry for your loss. What a beautiful boy. What aching you must have in your heart. I love you, Jo, and am wrapping you in tearful hugs this morning.

  8. So very very sorry Jo.... It's so hard to loose a dear sweet companions. The angels must be celebrating his arrival. You were so fortunate to have found each other. Such beautiful pictures. He will always have a special place in your heart. The sweet memories will one day soon bring you much joy. I've lost many over the years and have always said no more because the loss is so hard to bare. I found that God has always sent another little one who was in need of a loving home and I have always been grateful to have been chosen. Take time to heal dear Jo. Saying a prayer for both of you today.
    Hugs,
    Morena

  21. I'm so sorry for your loss...my heart is breaking for you. He was beautiful and perfect in every way. We in dog rescue believe in the Rainbow Bridge. This is for you...

    The Rainbow Bridge
    inspired by a Norse legend

By the edge of a woods, at the foot of a hill,

Is a lush, green meadow where time stands still.

Where the friends of man and woman do run,

When their time on earth is over and done.

For here, between this world and the next,

Is a place where each beloved creature finds rest.

On this golden land, they wait and they play,

Till the Rainbow Bridge they cross over one day.

No more do they suffer, in pain or in sadness,

For here they are whole, their lives filled with gladness.

Their limbs are restored, their health renewed,

Their bodies have healed, with strength imbued.

They romp through the grass, without even a care,

Until one day they start, and sniff at the air.

All ears prick forward, eyes dart front and back,

Then all of a sudden, one breaks from the pack.

    For just at that instant, their eyes have met;

Together again, both person and pet.

So they run to each other, these friends from long past,

The time of their parting is over at last.

The sadness they felt while they were apart,

Has turned into joy once more in each heart.

They embrace with a love that will last forever,

And then, side-by-side, they cross over… together.

I'll be sending prayers your way.

    Sincerely,
    Merilee

  22. Oh Jo and Dylan, I am so very sorry. I know too well how hard it is to say goodbye to a child with fur. I had to say goodbye to my sweet boy of 21+ years last fall. Time heals, but then there are the sneak attacks like finding his favorite toy under a box or opening his favorite food for our new companion. Memories are what helps heal. He was a beautiful Sheltie and his eyes spoke of his kind soul. Hugs.
