Dylan and I took a couple of days off and ran away to the woods to celebrate our 20th anniversary. It was beyond pretty, and I'm continually amazed by the beauty of Oregon. So much wild gorgeousness, and we were less than an hour out of Portland! We tromped through snow up on Mt. Hood, hiked around a pristine lake, saw duckies, caught salamanders, got a little lost, giggled over our considerably-less-than-luxurious accommodations, ate yummy food in tiny diners, sat for long periods of time just listening to the Salmon river, took way too many pictures of wildflowers, got muddy, explored the most-likely haunted Timberline lodge, oohed and ahhed over soaring vistas, and got totally inspired. Oh, and vowed to do stuff like this more often.
Now we're ready to get back to the arty stuff!
Fantastic!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! It sounds like a lovely day out. Don't leave it 20 years next time?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful place to get away for a few days. We were going to head up north for ours, this week, but decided to stay home and do some paddling in areas we don't usually get to or are too crowded on weekends. The money we saved on a trip was spent on a new couch, which was definitely needed. Happy Anniversary!
