Bummer

We're having some technical difficulties here on the ol' Cart. Apparently, our computer dropped dead -- completely and undeniably dead --  a couple of days ago. Dead dead. Like they can't retrieve anything off of it dead. No art, no pictures, no itunes, no Dylan's videos, no the-thing-that-makes-me-be-able-to-get pictures-off-my-camera, no pdf quilt patterns that I just bought, no anything.
Døde, мертвый, νεκρός, muerto, dead.

sigh.

  1. UGH! so sorry. you are handling much better than i would jo. i hate being at the mercy of technology. when it happened to me, my guy could send it off to a recovery place for $500 to see what they could do. my guy was able to recover my pics and tunes and the rest - i just started over and got a back up hard drive. hope something good comes from it!!

  2. I hope you can find a way to retrieve your files, that is always my biggest worry. I just did a back up on a san disk, but those aren't that dependable.

  3. I am a technological MORON & each time I've had to 'bury' a computer, I was thrown into a state of PANIC! You, my dear girl, are behaving like a rock star! Hope you can recover everything. Bummer is RIGHT!

  4. Oh, I'm sorry Jo and Dylan. MY old computer died not long ago and they were able to get a little bit off but not enough. Condolences because I know what this means.

  5. Time for a reinvent? This is one of those moments where I think of the Tarot's hanged man. You can't do much, besides cultivating patience and letting things go to embrace new ones coming.

  6. Oh that's terrible! I'm so sorry to hear that :( At least you have many photos uploaded here and etsy to salvage, but I know the personal photos have to be rough. I had a computer crash years ago, and I'm still hunting down some of the rarer music files I had :( I hope something comes through and some hot shot computer whiz appears with an answer for you and Dylan.

  9. NO CARBONITE?????

really, you need something like this to back up your stuff...it took almost two days for it to backup all of our photos at first, but now it does it automatically...it is really worth it!!
