I started a Flickr thingy too, so if you wanna see more pics of the chaos you can go here.
I started making the slipcover for that ugly couch too. So far I've made a pattern out of a couple of old sheets. I still have to buy the real fabric. I'm thinking light gray, with some texture and hopefully even a tiny bit stretchy would be good. Do I know what I'm doing? Nope. But I'm not gonna let that stop me!
I love how you are making your slip cover! Very clever!!
ReplyDeleteFUN.
ReplyDeleteYou & Dylan have made ENORMOUS progress! Really impressive! So ... are you on your way to visit me yet? Huh, huh, huh???? LOVE YOU!
ReplyDeleteТак классно получается, СУПЕР!!!
ReplyDeleteI can help you with the covering thing! Remember Changing Spaces or something like that? I learned it from them and it results in a nice, tight fit! :D You take the fabric you are going to use and place it on the couch RIGHT side down. Stick the pins right in the cushion to keep it in place. When you get two pieces together, pin it together in a straight line, just as if it was thread. Then take it off and sew. I did this four times and it was beautiful! For an even better look, add piping (simply fabric tube sewn with rope inside)- it actually makes it easier to do the cover and looks professional. Plus, knowing the artist side of you, that is another color/pattern to add! Contact me if you have questions- I am happy to help someone who has given me eye candy for years! :D
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteJust love following your progress....
