I've got 2 tables going on in the studio today.
One for stuffed stuff. . .
. . .and one for tiny objects of a flatter nature.
I just finished painting these dragonfly wings-
So many tiny lines!
(OK, I admit it, I've been making them fly around the house.)
I'm going back a forth between tables (and dimensions), while taking periodic breaks to clean my messy house. We have company coming tomorrow. (Some weeks it takes the fact that company's coming to get me motivated to do the un-fun chores.) We're all going to see the boy kid's jazz concert and eat spaghetti. wheee! The list in my head goes something like this-- Base paint the elephant, then vacuum. Cut out dragonfly arms, then clean the bathroom. Base paint an owl, then start to think about dinner. . . and so on. It really is a lovely way to spend a cloudy day.
My table was full of weirdness today...but I was interspersing with chores as well.
ReplyDeleteGlad it's not only me who intersperses housework with crafting!... drudgery desrves a little reward!
ReplyDeleteAt first I thought I saw a whale, lol.
ReplyDeleteI need glasses;) It that going to be a dragon?
My son loves dragons, I had started him a collection, but as with everything, you can only have so many.

...Oh my stinkin' heck - I do the same thing! lol... It's the only way I can balance house, sewing, garden, yard, cooking, etc., etc., etc...
ReplyDelete...Love the dragonfly wings! So much detail! :o)
...Enjoy your weekend!
...Blessings... :o)
I love your work, simply beautiful.
ReplyDeleteA greeting from Spain
Oh, those wings! Those beautiful wings!
ReplyDeleteWhat a choice to have to make -- clean or create wings.
I've had many cleaning/creating days as yours...ya think it's an artist thing or do real artists just do art and leave the cleaning to others or not??? LOL
ReplyDeleteAnyway, can't wait to see what will come out of all these little things you have set out before you.
Did you make that American Gothic piece in the profile? I love it! Love your work and your blog :)
ReplyDeleteIntriguing pieces EVERYWHERE, lil' Jo! And I think we ALL do that back-and-forth-clean-then-create-do-si-do dance! If I HAD a vote, I'd vote for someone ELSE to clean. Sigh. I DON'T have a vote. Obviously. Can't wait to see the finished beauties!
ReplyDeleteEverything looks great, enjoy your company!
ReplyDeleteYour chore list is the most fun list I have read...mine are so dull in comparison, although I have started sketching again (after a ten year break!) so may be I could break up the chore monotony with a little bit of drawing.
